BIS (Quality Control) Amendment Order for the Aniline

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the "Aniline Amendment Order (Quality Control) Order, 2019," scheduled to be effective from the 3rd August 2024.

Goods or articles classified as Aniline must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard 2833:2019. They are required to bear the Standard Mark under a license issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export, provided they meet the specifications required by the foreign buyer.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the authority responsible for certifying and enforcing conformity to the Standard Mark for Aniline. Additionally, the District Industries Centre in the Department of Industries of the State Government is empowered as an enforcing authority.

This Quality Control Order aims to ensure that Aniline products meet established standards, fostering quality and safety in their production and distribution.
