QCO EXTENTION FOR MANDATORY BIS CERTIFICATION OF TOOL STEEL FORGINGS FOR METAL FORMING IS 13387:1992

Important Update regarding mandatory BIS Certification requirements applicable to manufacture/imports/sales of product “Tool Steel forgings for Metal forming specification” for the Indian market has been extended till 13th February, 2022.
QUALITY CONTROL ORDER FOR “TOOL STEEL FORGINGS FOR METAL FORMING SPECIFICATION” MANDATORY BIS CERTIFICATION DATE EXTENDED
OVERVIEW
The date of implementation of the Indian Standard IS 13387:1992 is hereby extended until February 13, 2022, in accordance with the Gazette Notification of the steel and steel products order 2020 S.O.4637 (E) dated December 22, 2020, and subsequent order dated May 12, 2021.
The Government of India and The Ministry of Steel in India have come up with the latest regulation on steel and steel products. Tool Steel forgings for Metal forming are regulated as per the document, along with the implementation date and respective Indian standard. As per the Government of India, it is compulsory for all the manufacturers and re-rollers to get BIS Certification and ISI Mark, without BIS Certification no Tool Steel forgings for Metal forming can be stored, sold, manufactured or rerolled in India without the ISI Mark of BIS.
As a result, the Central Government hereby establishes the following rules to amend the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), in exercise of the powers provided by sections 6 and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986):
The Government of India has provided a time period of 3 months for the BIS Certification after this time period, no Export/Import manufacturer is allowed to produce this product or no one can store or distribute it to Indian consumers, it will be a punishable offence.
