Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024.
POLYESTER CONTINUOUS FILAMENT FULLY DRAWN YARN AMENDMENT ORDER, 2024
OVERVIEW
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has released a Quality Control Amendment Order, 2024 in respect of Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 17261:2019 and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
It shall come into force on the 18th of July, 2024.
“Provided that nothing in this Order shall apply to Low Melt Polyester Yarn.”
Notably, this Order does not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export purposes.
The certification and enforcement authority for Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn specified in this Order is the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Any individual found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
