By the recent directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been promulgated and is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2024.

This order is specifically applicable to goods or articles, namely Flat Lay Tube for rain irrigation system. However, it is important to note that this order excludes items intended for export.

The specified goods, Flat Lay Tube for rain irrigation system are mandated to adhere to the relevant Indian Standard IS 17728 : 2021 (Agro Textiles — High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Lay Flat Tube and Fittings for use in Rain Irrigation System — Specification).

Additionally, they must bear the Standard Mark obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following the guidelines outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for the mentioned goods, Flat Lay Tube for rain irrigation system.

Any individual found in violation of the stipulations outlined in this Order will be subject to punishment in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
