Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers amendment order for the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
Amendment for the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys(Aluminium alloy ingots for bearings)
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Mines has issued this amendment, known as the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023," of Indian Standards IS 6754:1972 will be effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette and will be enforced starting from June 1, 2024.
This Order focuses on ensuring the quality of Aluminium alloy ingots for Bearings, but it does not apply to items meant for export.
To comply, these goods must meet Indian Standard 6754:1972 and carry the Standard Mark. This mark can only be used under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards will oversee certification and enforcement of these quality standards for aluminum and aluminum alloy ingots and castings.
