This Order applies to the goods or articles classified as Automatic Sprinkler Heads for Fire Protection Service, which shall conform to the specifications outlined in the Indian Standard IS 9972: 2023, titled: “Automatic Sprinkler Heads for Fire Protection Service.”

All such goods or articles must bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Implementation Timeline:

• General Manufacturers (other than Micro and Small Enterprises): Compliance required within 6 months from the date of publication of this Order.
• Small Enterprises: Compliance required within 9 months from the date of publication.
• Micro Enterprises: Compliance required within 12 months from the date of publication.

Export Exemption:
This Order shall not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically solely for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) shall act as the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles covered under this Order, namely Automatic Sprinkler Heads for Fire Protection Service.
Any person who violates the provisions of this Quality Control Order shall be liable for punishment under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
