CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Dear Reader,
Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Electric Fence Energizers (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
Electric Fence Energizers
OVERVIEW
Electric fence energizers must conform to Indian Standard IS 302-2-76:1999 and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. For general implementation, this requirement will be effective six months from the publication date.
For Small Enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, compliance will be required nine months from the publication date. Micro Enterprises will have twelve months from the publication date to meet these standards.

This Order does not apply to electric fence energizers manufactured domestically for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for these products. Any person who violates this Order will be subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
