Geo Textiles (Geosynthetics — Synthetic Polymer Rope Gabions for Coastal and Waterways Protection)
The Ministry of Textiles introduces the (Quality Control) Order. This order shall be known as the Geotextiles (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
This order shall come into force on 1st April, 2025.
It applies specifically to the following goods: Geosynthetics — Synthetic Polymer Rope Gabions for Coastal and Waterways Protection.
Please note that this order does not apply to goods intended for export.
All Geosynthetics — Synthetic Polymer Rope Gabions for Coastal and Waterways Protection must comply with the Indian Standard IS 17880:2022. These products are required to bear the Standard Mark, issued under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for the aforementioned goods.
