Dear Reader,
Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for Linear Alkyl Benzene (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2022.
BIS QCO for the Linear Alkyl Benzene
OVERVIEW
This Order shall come into force on 3 rd April 2023. It applies to the goods specified in the table below; however, it does not apply to products meant for export.
All goods covered under this Order must conform to the relevant Indian Standard IS 12795:2020. Additionally, such products are required to bear the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid license issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) shall act as the certifying as well as enforcing authority for the products covered under this Order.
Any individual or entity found violating the provisions of this Order shall be liable for penalties as per the applicable provisions of the BIS Act, 2016.
