BIS QCO for Mixed Polyolefin Fibre Ropes IS 14929
The Ministry of Textiles has issued the Ropes and Cordages (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2026. It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
For Small and Micro Enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (Act 27 of 2006), the Order will take effect nine months after its publication.
The Order applies to textiles, specifically Mixed Polyolefin Fibre Ropes, but does not cover products intended for export.
Mixed Polyolefin Fibre Ropes must comply with Indian Standard IS 14929:2022 and bear the Standard Mark, which must be obtained under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards will be responsible for certifying and enforcing compliance with this Order for Mixed Polyolefin Fibre Ropes..
