Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Steel and Steel Products (Stainless steel pipes and tubes) (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Steel has issued the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024, which becomes effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette. It pertains specifically to goods or articles of Stainless steel pipes and tubes.
Under this order, Stainless steel pipes and tubes must be manufactured from stainless steel as the input material. Each consignment of these goods and articles must be accompanied by a test certificate.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for ensuring compliance with this order for both the steel and steel products specified herein.
Any individual or entity found contravening the provisions of this order is subject to punitive measures under section 29 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
