BIS QCO for the Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings (Chemically Resistant Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings)

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued the "Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings (Quality Control) Order, 2023," which will be effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Goods or articles falling under the category of Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings are required to adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard 3006:1979 (Chemically Resistant Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings). These products must bear the Standard Mark under a license issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme I of Schedule II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings.

Any violation of the provisions of this order will result in punishment under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.

This Quality Control Order is designed to uphold the quality and standards of Glazed Stoneware Pipes and Fittings, ensuring compliance with established criteria for the benefit of consumers and the construction industry.
