Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Concrete-Based Building Products (Concrete Paving Blocks) (Quality Control) Order, 2023.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued the "Concrete-Based Building Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023," effective from the specified date.
Goods or articles categorized as Concrete-Based Building Products are required to adhere to the corresponding Indian Standards, specifically IS 15658:2021 (Concrete Paving Blocks). To demonstrate compliance, these products must bear the Standard Mark, obtainable through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme I of Schedule II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
It's important to note that this order does not apply to goods or articles meant for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as both the certifying and enforcing authority for Concrete-Based Building Products.
Any contravention of the provisions outlined in this order is subject to penalties under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
This regulatory measure aims to ensure the quality and conformity of Concrete-Based Building Products in the market, promoting standardized practices for the benefit of consumers and the construction industry.
