BIS QCO for the Cables (Elastomer Insulated Flexible Cables for use in mines)
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a Quality Control Order known as the Cables (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
Effective from August 1, 2020, this order applies to Elastomer Insulated Flexible Cables for use in mines.
Goods or articles of Elastomer Insulated Flexible Cables for use in mines must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 14494 : 2019, specifying Elastomer Insulated Flexible Cables for Use in Mines –Specification. They should bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
However, this order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Elastomer Insulated Flexible Cables for use in mines.
