Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers Second Amendment Order 2024 for the Ethylene Dichloride (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025.
BIS Quality Control Amendment Order for the Ethylene Dichloride
OVERVIEW
This order mandates that goods or articles of Ethylene Dichloride must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 869:2020. They should bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Notably, this order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Ethylene Dichloride goods or articles.

Any individual or entity found in violation of this order will be subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
