BIS QCO for the Cross Recessed Screws (Fasteners - Cross Recessed Drilling Screws with Tapping Screw Thread Part 1 Pan Head)

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a Quality Control Order titled the "Cross Recessed Screws (Quality Control) Order, 2024."

This order shall come into force six months from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Goods or articles of Cross Recessed Screws must adhere to Indian Standard IS 18471 (Part 1): 2023 / ISO 15481:1999 (Fasteners - Cross Recessed Drilling Screws with Tapping Screw Thread Part 1 Pan Head). They should bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.

For micro-enterprises, as defined in clauses (h) and (m) of section 2 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), it becomes effective twelve months from the date of publication. For small enterprises, as defined in the same act, it becomes effective nine months from the date of publication.

The Bureau will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for Cross Recessed Screws.

Any person violating the provisions of this order shall face punishment under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
