Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Cables (Flexible Cables for Miner’s Cap Lamps) (Quality Control) Order, 2020.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a Quality Control Order known as the Cables (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
Effective from August 1, 2020, this order applies to Flexible Cables for Miner’s Cap Lamps.
Goods or articles of Flexible Cables for Miner’s Cap Lamps for use in mines must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 2593 : 1984, specifying Specification for Flexible Cables for Miner’s Cap-Lamps. They should bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
However, this order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Flexible Cables for Miner’s Cap Lamps.
