Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Steel and Steel Products (Primary cells and primary batteries parts) (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Steel has issued the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024, which becomes effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
It pertains to steel and steel products, specifically Primary cells and primary batteries parts.
However, it excludes steel and steel products intended for export that adhere to foreign specifications.
The specified goods and articles must be manufactured using tin plate and tin free steel as input materials. The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for compliance with this Order.
Violation of any provision of this Order is subject to penalty under section 29 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
