BIS QCO for the Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has enacted a Quality Control Order titled "Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers (Quality Control) Order, 2023," set to be effective six months from its publication in the Official Gazette.

Rubber gaskets for pressure cookers must adhere to Indian Standard 7466:1994 and display the Standard Mark through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This Order does not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export

For micro and small enterprises, as defined in clauses (h) and (m) of Section 2 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, the Order becomes effective twelve months and nine months from the publication date, respectively.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for rubber gaskets for pressure cookers covered by this Order

Violation of this Order is subject to punishment under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
