BIS QCO for the Door Fittings (Door closers, concealed type (hydraulically regulated))

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has introduced a Quality Control Order titled "Door Fittings (Quality Control) Order, 2023," scheduled to become effective six months from its publication in the Official Gazette.

Goods or articles specified as Door Fittings must adhere to Indian Standard 14912:2001 (Door closers, concealed type (hydraulically regulated)) and display the Standard Mark through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standard under Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This Order does not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export.

For micro and small enterprises, as defined in clause (h) and (m) of Section 2 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, the Order comes into force twelve months and nine months from the publication date, respectively.

The Bureau of Indian Standard is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Door Fittings covered by this Order.

Violation of this Order is subject to punishment in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
