BIS CERTIFICATION FOR HDPE PP WOVEN SACKS FOR FILLING SAND

In this competitive scenario, it isn't easy to survive in the market without a standard quality and certified product. BIS license may also be required to sell products in the Indian market.
To get BIS certification and produce a
standard quality product, the manufacturer must ensure that their
product must follow the specified Indian standard.
Let's take a closer look at IS 14252:2015 for HDPE/PP Woven sacks for filling sand.
HDPE/PP woven sacks for filling sand are covered under IS 14252:2015. This standard specifies the specifications for woven sacks made of high density polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) for filling sand.
The manufacturer shall ensure that the sacks meet the specifications specified in the standard. The tape must be made from virgin granules of high density polyethylene (HDPE)/polypropylene (PP). The fabric used in the production of HDPE/PP woven sacks must comply with IS 14252:2015. Sacks are made of tubular woven fabric and must be stitched at the bottom with two rows of lock or chain-type stitches. HDPE/PP tape or any other thread suitable for the purpose shall be used for stitching.
Tests
The following test shall be carried out for HDPE/PP woven sacks for filling sand.
- Dimensional test
- Tenacity test
- Heat shrinkage test
- Breaking strength test
- Ash content and some others test
A laboratory shall be adequately maintained, in which the various tests shall be carried out according to the methods specified in the standard.
The printing on sacks shall conform to the requirements of IS 14252:2015. The printing, packing, and marking shall be done in compliance with the standards. The bale shall be labelled with the manufacturer's name, sack type and size, gross mass, net mass, month and year of manufacture, and any other specified information. Each HDPE/PP sack-containing bale may also be marked with a standard mark (ISI Mark). The Manufacturer must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark). The BIS grants a license based on a successful assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, quality control and testing capabilities, and production process.
