Important update regarding mandatory BIS certification requirements applicable to manufactures/imports/sales of “Chemical Products” for the Indian market. On 31st March 2023, The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers issued an official Gazette for quality control order for various products, which includes Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers, Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion, Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn, Polyester Partially Oriented Yarn, Polyester Industrial Yarn, 100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn (PSY).

OVERVIEW
The Indian government has prioritized certain sectors to advance its Aatmanirbhar Bharatmission and has recognized the textile industry as a critical sector to achieve this goal.
As part of the efforts to promote self-reliance and increase domestic production, the government has given an extension for implementation of Quality Control Order of following products:

Such measures may include providing incentives for domestic textile production, promoting the use of local raw materials, and supporting innovation in the industry.
The government's commitment to advancing the textile industry is a significant step towards realizing the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission, as it will not only promote self-reliance but also help create job opportunities and stimulate economic growth.
