As per the amendment, Clause 6 of the standard has been revised. Now, each mobile phone handset must include an instruction manual either in printed form or digital format (such as an online user guide or QR code). This manual should furnish essential information in addition to what is already specified under Clause 5.1 of IS 16333 (Part 1). Moreover, if a digital format is used, the access provision must be clearly indicated on the packaging of the handset.

- The earlier version of the standard without Amendment No. 1 will remain valid until 19th September 2025.
