BIS QCO FOR THE AMENDMENT OF COTTON BALES
The Ministry of Textiles has issued the Cotton Bales (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, which will become effective on the 27th day of August, 2026.
This Order applies to Cotton Bales but does not cover those intended for export, provided they meet the specifications required by the foreign buyer.
However, it's important to note that these rules do not apply to goods or articles intended for export.
It's important to follow these rules. Those who do not adhere to them can face penalties as per the BIS Act, 2016. This ensures that everyone follows the standards IS 12171:2019 and maintains the quality of cotton bales.
