BIS QCO for Key Locks for Security Equipment

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has issued a Quality Control Order known as the and Key Locks (Quality Control) Order, 2023.

This order will be effective six months from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Goods or articles such as Key Locks must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard 17566: 2021 (Key locks for security equipment) and display the Standard Mark obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This Order does not apply to goods or articles produced domestically for export.

Micro and small enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, are exempt from the provisions for twelve months and nine months, respectively, from the date of publication of this notification.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Key Locks covered by this Order.

Violation of this Order is subject to punishment under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
