BIS QCO for the Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Solid core type))

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently issued a Quality Control Order, named the "Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Quality Control) Order, 2023."

This order will become effective six months from the date of its official notification.

However, for Small Enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), the enforcement will commence after nine months from the date of publication of this notification.

For Micro Enterprises, as defined under the same Act, the order will be enforced twelve months from the date of publication of this notification.

Under this order, all goods or articles pertaining to Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters must conform to the corresponding Indian Standard 2202(Part 2): 2022 (Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Solid core type) — Particle Board, High Density Fibre Board, Medium Density Fibre Board and Fibre Hardboard Face Panels) and bear the Standard Mark, which requires a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

It's important to note that this Order does not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export.

The Bureau of Indian Standards will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters.

In the event of non-compliance, individuals who violate the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
