Update on the Reimbursement Scheme for Testing and Certification Charges for Start-ups and Telecom MSEs
We are pleased to announce that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched a new scheme aimed at supporting Start-ups and Telecom Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the field of telecom and ICT. This scheme will provide reimbursement for testing and certification charges incurred by these businesses at designated labs or NABL accredited labs, under both mandatory and voluntary testing certification schemes.
Key Highlights of the Scheme:
1. Reimbursement Rates:
- Start-ups: Up to 75% of the testing and certification charges
- Micro Enterprises: Up to 60% of the testing and certification charges
- Small Enterprises: Up to 50% of the testing and certification charges
2. Eligibility:
The scheme is designed for Start-ups and Telecom MSEs undergoing telecom testing and certification, either at the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS), or NABL accredited labs (in the absence of a TEC designated lab).
3. Scheme Duration:
The scheme will be operational for two years from the date of implementation (March 5, 2025) or until the allocated fund of Rs. 25 crores is fully utilized, whichever comes first.
4. Implementing Agency:
The scheme will be implemented by the Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE), and the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) will act as the nodal authority.
How to Apply:
Starting from March 10, 2025, applications for the reimbursement can be submitted through the dedicated portal at https://tec.gov.in/tcrs.
This initiative aims to foster business growth, enhance consumer confidence, and accelerate the adoption of telecom products in both domestic and international markets.
