As per a recent notification by MeitY dated 12th March 2025, it has been clarified that Analog CCTV Cameras are no longer required to comply with the Essential Requirements (ER) for Security of CCTV. This change affects the testing and registration procedures for Analog CCTV models under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Key Updates:
- Self-Declaration for Registered Models: Manufacturers with existing registered Analog CCTV Camera models must submit a self-declaration through the "Standard Revision/ Amendment/ Essential Requirement" module. This declaration should list all Analog models in the scope of the license. No test reports are required for these models in this declaration. The deadline for submission is 9th April 2025. After this date, only Analog models listed in the declaration and those complying with the ER requirements will be maintained in the scope of the license.
- Test Reports for New Submissions: Any new test reports for CCTV cameras submitted as per IS 13252 (Part 1): 2010 must specify if the CCTV Camera is of Analog type. This will apply to all new test reports submitted.
- Applications for New CCTV Cameras: Starting from 9th April 2025, new applications for CCTV cameras will need to be submitted separately based on the type of CCTV:
- For Analog CCTV Cameras: Submit test reports under IS 13252 (Part 1).
- For Non-Analog CCTV Cameras: Submit test reports under IS 13252 (Part 1) along with compliance to the Essential Requirements for Security of CCTV.
Applicants are requested to ensure that Analog and Non-Analog CCTV models are not combined in a single application or inclusion ID.
For more information, manufacturers and licensees are encouraged to follow the updated procedures to ensure compliance.
