Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Boric Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2019.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has introduced the "Bureau of Indian Standards (Standards for Boric Acid) Order, 2019," effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
This order applies to goods or articles, specifically Boric Acid, and mandates conformity to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 10116:2015. Goods must bear the Standard Mark under a license issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards, aligning with the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
An exception is granted for goods or articles meant for export, provided they conform to the specifications required by the destination country
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for the standards related to Boric Acid. Additionally, the Bureau may designate an officer, not below the rank of the General Manager of the District Industries Center in the Department of Industries of the State Government, as an enforcing authority for the purpose of this order.
