Under this order, all electrical appliances designed for commercial dispensing and vending must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard 302 (Part 2 or Sec 75): 2018 and display the Standard Mark. To do so, they must obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-1 outlined in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

However, it's important to note that this order does not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export purposes.

Micro and small enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act of 2006 (Act No. 27 of 2006), must adhere to the applicable Indian Standards according to the following implementation dates:

• General Enterprises: 1st October, 2025
• Small Enterprises: 1st January, 2026
• Micro Enterprises: 1st April, 2026

Additionally, this order does not apply to up to fifty goods or articles imported annually for research and development purposes by manufacturers of electric appliances for commercial dispensing and vending. These imported items shall not be sold commercially and must be disposed of as scrap. Manufacturers are required to maintain a yearly record of these goods and present it to government authorities upon request.

The Bureau of Indian Standards will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles specified in the order.

In cases of non-compliance with this order, individuals or entities will face penalties as per the provisions outlined in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
