OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued the "Bureau of Indian Standards Domestic Water Heater for Use with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Quality Control) Order, 2018," effective from May 1, 2019.
This order applies to goods or articles known as Instantaneous Domestic Water Heaters for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gas, which must adhere to the Indian Standard IS: 15558 (Mini domestic water heater for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gas) manufacturers are required to display the Standard Mark and obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to ensure compliance.
It's essential to clarify that Instantaneous Domestic Water Heaters for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gas, as outlined in this order, are applicable for both import and manufacture for use within India.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority specifically for Instantaneous Domestic Water Heaters for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
Any violation of this order is subject to penalties under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
