Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids Amendment Order, 2024.
BIS (Quality Control) Amendment Order for the Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has introduced the Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, amending the Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Order, 2022.
This amendment is scheduled to come into effect on October 24, 2024.
This order applies to goods or articles specified as Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids, with an exemption for those intended for export.
To ensure compliance, products related to Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids must conform to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 12361:1988 and bear the Standard Mark. Compliance necessitates obtaining a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I as specified in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The certifying and enforcing authority for products covered by this order, specifically Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids, is the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Any individual found in contravention of the provisions of this order will be subject to penalties by the relevant Act.
