We would like to inform all stakeholders and industry partners about an important update regarding the implementation of the revised IS 302 (Part 1): 2024/IEC 60335-1:2020 standard for Adapters for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has decided to extend the last date for the implementation of the revised IS 302 (Part 1): 2024/IEC 60335-1:2020 standard. Initially, the deadline was set for 23rd February 2025. However, BIS has now extended this date to 23rd February 2026.
This extension provides additional time for manufacturers and suppliers to comply with the revised standards, ensuring smoother adaptation to the new guidelines. Please note that all other terms and conditions as outlined in the previous circular (IS 302 (Part 1) dated 27th November 2024) will remain unchanged.
We encourage all relevant parties to continue working towards compliance with the revised standard within the updated timeframe.
