In a significant move impacting the electrical and power control sector, the Ministry of Heavy Industries has officially extended the implementation timeline for multiple product categories under the Electrical Equipment (Quality Control) Second Amendment Order, 2024. This extension comes as a welcome relief for manufacturers, importers, and stakeholders preparing for compliance.
The extension was notified via S.O. 2007(E) dated 5th May 2025, in reference to the original notification S.O. 1896(E) published on 3rd May 2024. As per the latest order, the new enforcement date has been postponed by six months—from 10th May 2025 to 10th November 2025.
