Important update regarding Mandatory BIS certification requirements applicable to goods and articles specified in “1,3 Phenylenediamine, Lauric Acid, Acid Oil, Palm Fatty Acids, Rice Bran Fatty Acids, Coconut Fatty Acids, Rubberseed Fatty Acids, Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids” for the Indian market.
BIS Notification for “1,3 Phenylenediamine, Lauric Acid, Acid Oil, Palm Fatty Acids, Rice Bran Fatty Acids, Coconut Fatty Acids, Rubberseed Fatty Acids, Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids” (Mandatory BIS Certification)
OVERVIEW
The Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards,dated 27 April 2022, was of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so in the public interest, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016). Under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme – I of Schedule- II (Conformity Assessment) Regulations 2018, goods and articles specified in“1,3 Phenylenediamine, Lauric Acid, Acid Oil, Palm Fatty Acids, Rice Bran Fatty Acids, Coconut Fatty Acids, Rubberseed Fatty Acids, Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids” would have to comply with the Indian Standards and cannot be produced unless they bear ISI Mark under a licence.
Not applicable to the products or articles which are meant for export.
NOTE: Any person who violates the provisions of this order will be punished in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.
