BIS CERTIFICATION FOR POLYESTER SPUN GREY & WHITE YARN
IS 17265:2019

In this competitive scenario, it isn't easy to survive in the market without a standard quality and certified product. BIS license may also be required to sell products in the Indian market.

To get BIS certification and produce a standard quality product, the manufacturer must ensure that their product must follow the specified Indian standard.

Let’s take a closer look at IS 17265:2019 for 100 percent polyester spun grey and white yarn.

100 percent polyester spun grey and white yarn are covered under IS 17265:2019. The Bureau of Indian Standards adopted this Indian Standard after the Textile Division Council approved the draft finalized by the Man-Made Fibres, Cotton, and Their Products Sectional Committee. Polyester spun yarns are produced by ring spinning, open-end spinning, or airjet/vortex spinning 100% polyester staple (cut) fibres.

This standard defines the requirements for all types of 100% polyester spun single, double, and multifold yarns made from virgin polyester fibres.

Classification of spun yarn

The 100 percent polyester spun single and double (two fold) yarns must be made from pure virgin polyester fibre cut staples and meet the standard's constructional and performance requirements. To ensure fibre virginity, the isophthalic acid content of polyester fibre must be zero when tested using the method specified in Annex C of IS 16481.
