BIS CERTIFICATION FOR POLYESTER SPUN GREY & WHITE YARN

100 percent polyester spun grey and white yarn are covered under IS 17265:2022. The Bureau of Indian Standards adopted this Indian Standard after the Textile Division Council approved the draft finalized by the Man-Made Fibres, Cotton, and Their Products Sectional Committee. Polyester spun yarns are produced by ring spinning, open-end spinning, or airjet/vortex spinning 100% polyester staple (cut) fibres.

This standard defines the requirements for all types of 100% polyester spun single, double, and multifold yarns made from virgin polyester fibres.

The 100 percent polyester spun single and double (two fold) yarns must be made from pure virgin polyester fibre cut staples and meet the standard's constructional and performance requirements. To ensure fibre virginity, the isophthalic acid content of polyester fibre must be zero when tested using the method specified in Annex C of IS 16481.

Packing and Marking:

Packing and marking shall be done in accordance with IS 17265: 2022. Each carton of polyester spun yarn shall be marked with information as per standard. The polyester spun yarn must be wound over paper cones, bobbins, or cheeses with standard packing, as mutually agreed upon by the buyer and seller.

Conforming to the requirements of this standard, the product may be certified under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 and the Rules and Regulations framed thereunder, and the product(s) may be marked with the Standard Mark (ISI Mark). The Manufacturer must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark). The BIS grants a license based on a successful assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, quality control, testing capabilities, and production process.
