New Indian Standard for Stainless steel pipes & tubes
India is the world's second-largest steel producer, and it is also on its way to achieving complete quality control. To achieve the goal of a full quality regime, it is necessary to bring quality standards for stainless steel products such as pipes and tubes.
It is critical for Indian manufacturers and industries to stay updated about the latest trends, technology, and equipment with changing global trends. A new standard for seamless and welded stainless steel pipe and tube is being developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This was in long demand from the steel industries to regulate the quality norms for stainless steel products. With the effort of the Indian stainless steel development association (ISSDA), the draft has been formulated for stainless steel pipe and tube.
Stainless steel pipe and tube will come under the mandatory certification list of BIS. BIS certification will be mandatory for manufacturers to use ISI mark on the stainless steel tube and pipe. The manufacturer will have to obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark).
