BIS CERTIFICATION FOR SODIUM SULPHATE TECHNICAL

In this competitive scenario, it isn't easy to survive in the market without a standard quality and certified product. BIS license may also be required to sell products in the Indian market.
To get BIS certification and produce a standard quality product, the manufacturer must ensure that their product must follow the specified Indian standard.

IS 297:2001 covers Sodium Sulphide, Technical. This standard specifies the requirements and sampling and testing methods for sodium sulphide, technical.
Sodium sulphide, technical, shall be in the form of a flesh-colored or dark-brown mass or flakes, and it must be water-soluble. Sodium sulphide is widely used in the tannery, dyestuff, and textile industries and in ore beneficiation. Because the solution is caustic, it must be handled with caution.
When tested according to the methods prescribed in the standard's Annex, the material must also meet the requirements outlined in the standard.
TESTS
Test shall be carried out in accordance with the method prescribed in the standard.
- Test for Determination of total sulphides, hydrosulphide, and excess alkali
- Test for Determination of reducing compounds
- Test for Determination of iron and aluminium compounds
- Test for Determination of sodium sulphate
- Test for Determination of sodium chloride
- Test for Determination of water-insoluble
- Test for Determination of excess alkali
Packing and Marking:
Packing and Marking shall be done in accordance with IS 297:2001. The material must be packed in mild steel drums, and the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) shall be marked on the product's container provided that the material so marked meets all requirements of the specification. Each package must be securely closed and clearly labelled with the information as specified in the standard.
The Manufacturer must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark). The BIS grants a license based on a successful assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, quality control, testing capabilities, and production process.
