The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has introduced the Bolts, Nuts and Fasteners (Quality Control) Order, 2023, which enforces new requirements for the production and sale of hexagon-head bolts, screws, and nuts. Specifically, the new requirements are related to Grade C - Hexagon Nuts (Size Range M5 to M64) as per IS 1363 (Part 3): 2018.

Standardized quality is turning into a need rather than just a preference in this competitive market. In order to become a reliable brand in the Indian market, manufacturers must now obtain a BIS license for their products to bear the prestigious ISI Mark.

Recognizing the importance of quality standards, the Central Government has taken firm action to uphold high standards in the manufacturing and distribution of Hexagon Nuts Grade C (size range M5 to M64). It has mandated adherence to the corresponding Indian Standard, as per IS 1363 (Part 3): 2018.

A granted license allows manufacturers to use the Standard Mark in accordance with IS 1363 (Part 3): 2018. Labeling and marking procedures must align with IS 1363 (Part 3): 2018. Hexagon Nuts Grade C (Size Range M5 to M64) must be packaged following IS 1367 (Part 18) guidelines. Every production meeting these Indian Standards and covered by the license should proudly bear the Standard ISI Mark.

To obtain the privilege of using this mark, manufacturers must secure a BIS license for Hexagon Nuts Grade C from the Bureau of Indian Standards. This license is granted based on a comprehensive assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, quality control and testing capabilities, and the overall production process. The BIS license is a crucial assurance of the product's safety and reliability for consumers.

Maintaining a dedicated laboratory for various tests specified in the standard is fundamental. Rigorous testing, following outlined methods, ensures that Hexagon Nuts Grade C meet the required quality and safety standards.
