Let's take a closer look at IS 1989(Part 1):1986 for leather safety boots and shoes for miners.

The shoes must be of derby design, with four eyelets or less as specified by the purchaser, and built on lasts that meet IS 5520:1969 standards. The toe must be reinforced with a steel toe cap, and the tongue must be padded. The vamp must be completely lined.
