The Central Government's Mandate
The Central Government has taken decisive action after realizing how important it is to uphold strict regulations in the manufacturing and distribution of sliding door bolts made of non-ferrous metal. It is necessary that these products meet the applicable Indian Standard, as per IS 2681:1993. The new regulatory framework will allow non-ferrous metal sliding door bolts that meet the required Indian Standard to display the desired Standard Mark (ISI Mark).
To obtain this authorization, manufacturers must apply for a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards in accordance with Schedule-II, Scheme-1 of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Non-ferrous metal sliding door bolts have to be packed following the guidelines as per IS 1367 (Part 18) and have to be labeled and marked as per IS 2681:1993.
