IS 302: Part 1:2024 deals with safety requirements of household electric appliances such as Electric Cooking Ranges, Ovens, Hobs, and Hob Elements. This standard applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V and all other appliances with a rated voltage not greater than 415 V. Appliances dealt with within this standard may be used by shopkeepers or in light industries. This standard deals with the hazards commonly experienced in the home but does not consider use by children of very young ages or by any other people requiring supervision. It does not apply to industrial equipment, medical devices, or portable tools.
